A new study claims a man who had been arrested for selling a counterfeit drug could get his life back.
An American citizen arrested on charges of selling a counterfeit drug for more than $2,000.
John Smith, 45, of Los Angeles, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy and two counts of mail fraud.
The federal case is being prosecuted by United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Matthew P. Smith.
"The investigation is continuing with the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida," said Smith.
Smith said the investigation is continuing because he believes that an investigation has not been completed, and because the government is trying to gain more information about Smith's criminal conduct.
Smith said he believes that he is dealing with a life sentence that is not fair to the man who was arrested for selling counterfeit drugs.
According to the U. S. Attorney's Office, Smith will meet with U. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to secure the arrest and sentencing. The U. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida will also take over the case from the U. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.
Attorney's Office will continue its investigation.
If convicted, Smith faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $5,000 for each count of conspiracy.
The case is being prosecuted by the Southern District of Florida and is being handled by the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida.

Robert C. Smith, 45, of Los Angeles, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and to distribute counterfeit pharmaceuticals and an illegal generic drug.
He faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000, depending on the amount of money he has been paid for the drugs.

On June 17, 2015, Smith's U. Attorney's Office received a report from the U. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida that Smith was arrested on charges of selling counterfeit drugs for more than $2,000.
Smith, the U. Attorney's Office's special agents, interviewed U. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), FDA, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Health Canada and seized the drugs, the U. Attorney's Office said.
The agents searched Smith's home, office and personal residence. The agents found four hundred and fifty tablets of Viagra, an erectile dysfunction drug manufactured by Pfizer, at the door of his office.
A prescription medication and an illicit generic drug were also discovered at the door of Smith's home. A prescription medication was also seized and was later re-entered after being found in a drawer at Smith's home.
Smith's attorney, Kevin O'Brien, told the press that an investigation by the U. Attorney's Office was still underway.
Attorney's Office is also investigating the case.
